Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital located in Baton Rouge, LA

Our Lady of the Lake is currently building a brand new state-of-the-art, freestanding children's hospital that is set to open October 4, 2019. It will be a premier destination for high-quality, advanced pediatric healthcare for the state of Louisiana. The new hospital, designed specifically for children, will be six floors, over 350,000 square feet and includes inpatient beds, a pediatric emergency room, surgical unit, an expanded pediatric intensive care unit, a dedicated hematology/oncology unit that will serve both inpatients and outpatients, playrooms on every floor and more. Plans also include a four-story, 95,000 square foot medical office building primarily for pediatric medical specialists. Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital has been a leader in pediatric care in the region and one of the largest providers of pediatric care in the state. Currently, Our Lady of the Lake touches the lives of over 110,000 pediatric patients annually from all across Louisiana and parts of Mississippi and Texas. With over 100 pediatricians and 80 pediatric specialists in more than 25 pediatric sub-specialties, Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital treats all children in need. Estimated construction cost for the new hospital and medical office building is $230 million. Philanthropy supports this construction project and ongoing health and wellness programs. Danny Fields, Director at Our Lady of the Lake Foundation shares, "Philanthropy plays an important role in our children's hospital and allows our hospital to purchase life-saving equipment, invest in programs that benefit the health and wellness of all patients and purchase unique and special items that help make the hospital and its treatments and procedures less scary for our young patients." Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital is currently a 100-bed "hospital within a hospital" located inside Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Louisiana's largest private hospital.
