Mediathon Raises $185,000 for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital

Mediathon partners celebrate raising $185,000 at the November 16-17 event benefiting Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.

The Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Mediathon held November 16-17 raised $185,000 to help build the new freestanding children’s hospital set to open in 2019.  This year’s Mediathon was a first of its kind collaboration of radio, television, print and digital media partners in support of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.

iHeartMedia Baton Rouge, led by syndicated radio veterans, Murphy, Sam and Jodi, broadcast on its cluster of radio stations, 96.1 FM  The River, WYNK Country101.5 FM, Today’s Hit Music 102.5 FM WFMF, and Newsradio 97.7 FM/1150 AM WJBO.  iHeartMedia has led this event since 2010 and serves as the official radio partner.  iHeartMedia collaborates with Our Lady of the Lake Foundation year-round to prepare and promote the event over the air and online across multiple social and digital media platforms.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital welcomed two new official partners to the Mediathon event this year. WAFB-TV Channel 9 joined in support of the Mediathon this year as the official television partner for the event, broadcasting during all of it’s newscasts and running commercials on it’s network and cable stations and it’s social media channels.   Additionally, Louisiana Business Inc., the umbrella company for The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, 225 Magazine, and InRegister Magazine, joined the Mediathon as the official print media partner.  Louisiana Business Inc included promotions in its print publications and on it’s social media channels and e-newsletter distributions.

Onsite during the two days of Mediathon, over two hundred people volunteered, answering phones on the phone bank or participating in the Mediathon Live Lounge to share about and recruit donations for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital on social media.
