Parenting U – Anxiety in Children and Teens

ParentingU is a new initiative brought to you by Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health that features some of your most asked questions answered by our doctors and specialists. This program brings important topics that all parents face to the forefront in engaging and interactive sessions.

Our first event will feature the topic of Anxiety in Children and Teens. Our presenters will be Dr. Joseph Grizzaffi, child psychiatrist, and Dr. Chris Funes, pediatrician, speaking about anxiety in our children, how to spot it and how to help our kids work through it.

Meet the Doctors
The Anxiety in Children and Teens class features Dr. Joseph Grizzaffi and Dr. Chris Funes.
Dr. Joseph Grizzaffi is Board Certified in general and child/adolescent psychiatry and specializes in anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, attention deficit disorder, bipolar/mood disorders, psychotic disorders, autistic spectrum disorders and adjustment disorders. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry with LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Psychiatry and faculty in the LSU-OLOL Psychiatry residency program.
A native of Baton Rouge, Dr. Chris Funes completed his post-graduate training at Baylor College of Medicine in the Affiliated Hospitals Pediatric Residency Program, during which time he served as the Ben Taub Hospital Neonatology Chief Resident. As a medical student, he was awarded the Herbert Rothschild Award as the outstanding pediatric medical student in his class. Dr. Funes is a pediatrician at Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Southeast Pediatrics.
