Meet Macy, Miracle Child!

Early on, Macy had a problem swallowing.  After arriving at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, Macy had a scope to find out what caused the wet sound in her lungs.  Doctors were able to conclude that Macy had milk in her lungs and was close to drowning.  She also tested positive for staph infection and that is when the doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital decided to insert a gastronomy tube in her abdomen.  This gastrostomy tube (G-tube) is used to give children formula, liquids, and medicines directly into the stomach.

Macy learned to walk at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. Today, Macy is a happy and healthy girl that loves swimming and gymnastics.
